“Chance Encounter” Review

November 14, 2012

Chance Encounter coverI submitted “Chance Encounter (Two Short Stories)” to Short Fiction Spotlight. (Where short stories rule and novels drool. heehee) Jason Varrone was kind enough to read and review my two-story collection.

Here’s a snippet:

“Both stories were fun to read and written well. Lane does a nice job of injecting characterization into each story…both had elements of surprise that caught you off guard at the close.”

You can read the entire review here.

Jason is conservative with his “stars”; his Review Grading Scale can be found on the Review Service page.

If you enjoy short fiction (and who doesn’t?!?), be sure to bookmark Short Fiction Spotlight and check it out often. New reviews and features pop up on a regular basis.

Thanks, Jason!

The Legend of Jack Straw – corrected file

November 8, 2012

A couple of errors slipped through the original file — “Kindle Edition 1.0”, noted in the front of the book. This was the version available as a free download during the “Halloween Free Horror” promotion on October 23, 24, & 25. I didn’t realize about the errors until a few days after the promotion ended.

The errors have been corrected in the “Kindle Edition 1.1” file, which was available as a free download on October 30 & 31. If you downloaded the free book during the earlier promotion, please download again for the latest, corrected version. Apologies for the inconvenience! Thank you!

by Lane Champion

Something wicked awaits beneath a full moon the night Nicole Hansen hangs out with her friends in the cornfield maze. Terror mounts as the teens are picked off one by one. Nicole struggles with clues leading to the impossible, that the attacks may be connected to an old story about a scarecrow come to life known as the Legend of Jack Straw.

A Halloween horror novella, approx. 19,000 words or 63 pages.
